• Problems
conflictis is very common in teens world. So conflict management is very important to teenager. Research shows that the teenager that have a very aggressive or avoidant confilict resolusion with their parents, reported higher level of behavioral problem. Its very different with teenagers that are handled conflict with their parents with a compromise. In addition, teenager who cant solve a conflict found to be at risk of disability and denial of a social
• Method
Participant are 559 early teenager (age : 13,4) and 327 intermediate teenager ( age :17,7). Participant recruited from junior high school student at Utrecht, Netherland.
This study used two waves with intervals of three years. About roughly one-third of them prepare for work or vocational training, and two-thirds are preparing for higher education or university.
• Purpose
The purpose of this study was to determine a relation between teenager styles to solving a problem/ conflict with their parents with their friendship relationship.
• Theory base
This study uses the theory of :
1. The theory of attachment (bowlbly) that: states that teens build internal working models of relationships based on the experience in relationships with their parents and that they will use the model to understand the relationships and build their relationships with friends.
2. Social learning theory (Bandura), namely: emphasizes the role of parents as agents of socialization is important for their children, and considers a home environment to be
• Result
The result is very likely same with the base theory. The resolution conflict which the teenager use with their parents will affect their conflict resolution with their friends. Its no different between an intermediate and an early teenager. So the relationship with parents will still and remain as the ground base on how teenage will solve their problem with their friends. And also the teenager who used this resolution to their friends are likely to do the same resolution to their kids soon.
